Living Intentionally from John 3:16
Living Intentionally from John 3:16
Scripted with Bailey Lucero's support

Often, we say John 3:16 as the verse we memorized in children’s church. Shane has been learning how to share "The Four" which is a way to share the gospel with others in his life. Shane has been given multiple opportunities to share the gospel at middle schools, high schools and college huddles. The way he shares his love for Jesus and wanting others to know Jesus is such a gift from the Lord. He can't wait to share with you too! Shane will also get to share the gospel at the Special Olympics summer games in Minnesota. The Lord is using Shane and our athletes to share within their platforms who Jesus is! It's so powerful!
Here is the Four broken down from the framework of John 3:16
The Heart- Gods Love Us
The Divide- Sin Separates Us
The Cross- Jesus Saves Us
The Question Mark- Will you choose to follow Jesus?
Shane has taken this and shared the gospel based off of John 3:16. Most of us share this verse casually, but Shane shares it with passion and a deep understanding of who God is. With that I am going to share about John 3:16 as Shane and I have talked through this.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son Jesus that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world that…
What God means to me is that God is our creator and He is powerful and faithful. We can see this when God created the world in Genesis 1. In this He also created all of us. When God loves us He loves us unconditionally which means that no matter what we do he still loves us and loves everyone in the world. Because of this it leads to the next part of the verse. He loves us so much that..
He gave His one and only son Jesus to die so…
When it says He gave that was a gift that He gave out of love. He gave His only son Jesus. Jesus was perfect and didn't do anything that was wrong. Jesus cares and loves us deeply. He doesn’t give up on us, he never gives up. So, he went to the cross to die for our sins. Because of his sacrificial gift to us we get to have the rest of the verse.
That whoever believes in Him…
Whoever means that anyone can believe in Jesus and that He died on the cross for our sins. I ask people when I share the four if they want to believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Hebrews 11:1 gives us a further understanding saying, “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” It takes faith to be a believer and have eternal life.
Shall not perish but have eternal life.
Because of our faith and what Jesus did we have a guaranteed outcome that gives us purpose and a known ending. We will not end in hell but instead get to celebrate forever in heaven with our Lord and Savior. This gives us a future we know for sure to happen, and a purpose for now on as we are on the earth.
Take the joy of John 3:16 and be intentional about how you live your life and sharing your faith with others in your life. Bringing daily meaning to John 3:16.
"I am going to break down each part of this verse and what it means to me" Shane Sorrentino
The gospel message to me is
"The way I do things, do you know how we all do different ways to show how God loves us. For my personal way and sharing God's love and the way I do things, my role being an ambassador, do you know how we all have different roles in sharing the gospel, my ambassador role is this means to me that get to do serving and discipleship. The way I do things with John 3:16 is how do I put God's love in how I serve people. I know God loves me so much that I get to love other people and tell them about how God loves each person. I love to speak life over people that shows God's love. I get to share Bible verses when I write to people that shows God loves them and has a Bible verse for them.
As an ambassador role, I want to share God's love and that when people believe in God they will wait to see Jesus some day and have eternal life.
This life that Shane lives is on purpose. Shane has been transformed by this verse on a daily basis and lives his life for God. He is walking out Psalm 139, He is fearfully and wonderfully made He knows God's works are wonderful and knows that full well!
Thank you for supporting FCA as Shane gets to be on staff and shares his faith in every department on some level weekly.
