Patience

You have probably heard it said that PATIENCE is a virtue. According to Websters – Virtue is defined as “behavior showing high moral standards”. So, by that standard PATIENCE is a pretty important quality that we as followers of Christ should strive to possess. Matter of fact PATIENCE is found 70 times in the bible and is the 4th fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)! Perhaps this is why GOD has given me the word PATIENCE as my “word for the year”. To be completely transparent – I LACK PATIENCE! I want what I want (funding, open doors to coaches, church partnerships, and of course plenty of toys) - right now.
There are 3 specific scriptures that come to mind concerning PATIENCE.
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant.” 1 Corinthians 13:4
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Psalm 37:7
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Romans 12:12
So as I ponder the importance of PATIENCE, there are 3 things that become “crystal clear”!
1. GOD must be in front of everything we do, so we must wait on HIM! (Counter intuitive for a coach).
2. I must lead with PATIENCE! (After all it is the first characteristic of love from the scripture above).
3. PATIENCE is way more challenging in times of trouble and adversity, but GOD IS FAITHFUL!
I am reminded everyday that GOD DOES NOT NEED ME to make this ministry with coaches happen, but I sure do need HIM! Thankfully JESUS is PATIENT!
Blessings!
